Professional Life After Roe Vs. Wade

Regardless of individual views of abortion, laws have changed, following the decision of the U. S. Supreme Court that overturned the Court’s decision from 1973.  Recognizing that the Court’s recent decision has evoked considerable debate, this session is not a debate about the merits of the Court’s decision.  Likewise, it is not a debate about the rightness or wrongness of abortion.  Instead, it is a conversation about the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision and state-specific laws on mental health care providers.  Each of us is entitled to a view of abortion, but must comply with current law, regardless of personal views.  Indeed, many laws may be debatable, but they are laws, nevertheless.  This conversation gives attention to the impact on counselors and therapists.
